Your adventure begins with a night of pre-trip accommodation in Helsinki. You can arrive at any time today as there are on activities planned. You will be given an envelope with the details of tomorrow’s departure. A Quark representative will be on hand tonight to answer questions in person.
Murmansk – Embarkation Day
Take an included charter flight to Murmansk, Russia. Transfer to port and board the 50 Years of Victory. Settle into your cabin and meet you crew and expedition team. Let the journey begin!
Spend the next few days cruising towards the North Pole. This part of the journey can take anywhere from four to six days, depending on ice conditions. Your time on board will be occupied with a mixture of activities. There will be lectures from your expedition crew, wildlife-spotting opportunities on deck, possible helicopter excursions for an aerial view of the Arctic and the chance to make use of the amenities on the ships.
North Pole – 90° North
The day has finally come! Upon reaching the North Pole, disembark the ship for a barbecue and glass o bubbles on the ice. Many travellers find themselves overcome with emotion, while others are in a festive and celebratory mood. If you have organised them in advance (and if conditions allow) this is your chance to enjoy your polar plunge or hot air balloon ride.
Begin the return voyage and enjoy your time at sea with more lectures and wildlife-spotting options.
Franz Josef Land
Spend a few days exploring some of the 191 islands that form Franz Josef Land. While landing sites can’t be confirmed in advance, each day will bring a form of polar adventure. One day you might pay your respect at the graves of explorers of old on Cape Flora, the next you could observe a walrus rookery on Apollonov Island. You could cruise beneath the cliffs of Hall Island to observe seabirds or spot polar bears on Victoria Island. Your expedition crew will determine the most interesting places to explore each day and deliver daily lectures on what you encounter.
Enjoy your time out on deck or reminisce with your shipmates and new friends as you cross the Arctic Ocean back to Murmansk.

Disembark the 50 Years of Victory. Transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Helsinki, Finland.
