When you’re not enjoying daily massages (using traditional Malagasy oils), learn about traditional Madagascan cuisine in a cooking class, tour the lagoon in a dugout canoe, or wander around the pirate’s cemetery. Or if that’s all a bit much, relax with a book at your lodge while lemurs swing overhead and birds sing in the trees. Looking for heaven? You’ve found it here.

Ile aux Nattes
Your shortbreak adventure begins at 9:00am this morning when you will be met at the Vanivola Hotel and driven to the south of the island. From here you will be transferred by Pirogue ( Dugout Canoe ) to Ile aux nattes (approx. 45min).
Île aux Nattes (also officially, but less commonly, called Nosy Nato) is a small island south of Île Sainte-Marie and is just 3km in diameter.
Ile aux Nattes can be explored on foot in less than 3 hours and has unspoiled beaches with white powdery sand beaches, coconut and other palm trees scattered along the shore and a turquoise lagoon protected by coral reefs which offers a home to a large variety of exotic marine life.
One of the best things about Ile Aux Nattes is that there are absolutely no motor cars or any other forms of modern transport to invade your sense of tranquility and peace.
Your accommodation for the next 2 nights is at the Les Lémuriens Ecolodge. With only 6 bungalows the lodge is located right on the beach and offers a unique and relaxing experience of Ile aux Nattes.
After an orientation walk around the island, perhaps visit the pirate’s cemetery and then return to your lodge accommodation for an afternoon massage.
Ile aux nattes
After breakfast on the restaurant terrace take a tour of the lagoon in a canoe with a local, keeping your eye out for brightly coloured fish, turtles and other marine life.
In the afternoon, treat yourself to another traditional Malagasy massage at the lodge before enjoying a cooking lesson with the chef. With influences from Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe, cuisine in Madagascar is varied; expect to see meat stews, rice and beans, and barbecued seafood on most menus, while rum remains the drink of choice!
Ile aux nattes
After breakfast say goodbye to Island life and transfer back to Ile Sainte Marie Airport ( approx, 45mins ) where this shortbreak adventure finishes on arrival.
