Peter’s adventure travel started back in the 1970s when he drove an ancient Land-Rover from the UK to India – and back. Since setting up the Peregrine Travel Centre in Perth in 1986, he has travelled to all 7 continents.
He led numerous trekking trips to Nepal, India, Pakistan and Bhutan before expanding his travels to South America, visiting most nations there. In more recent times he has travelled regularly to the Polar Regions, his favourites being Svalbard in the north and South Georgia in the south. Peter has now completed over 15 trips to Antarctica and the High Arctic.
He is a very keen wildlife and landscape photographer and in the last few years has been involved in taking groups to India. He has led numerous wildlife trips to the Sub-Continent including 2 trips to search out elusive Snow Leopards and several trips seeking Tigers, other wildlife and birds. His last trip in 2018 was in search of India’s “Big 5 (or 6)” – Tiger, Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo (and Leopard). All have been very successful with many repeat clients.
In 2020 he will escort 3 trips to India that will run consecutively. The first is another trip to Ladakh, INDIA: IN SEARCH OF SNOW LEOPARDS – 15 Days (16 – 30 January 2020); followed by a relaxed birding (plus some other wildlife) trip to the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat INDIA: BIRDS OF RAJASTHAN & GUJARAT – 22 Days (1 – 22 February 2020); and finally a “Super-Charged” Tiger trip to 3 iconic National Parks, INDIA: TURBO TIGERS – 16 Days (24 February – 10 March 2020) where every effort will be made to repeat the successes of previous Tiger focused itineraries. Much of the travel will be with his good friend and naturalist, Rahul Sharma.
